Since 1997, Faruk has worked at various Wall Street firms (asset management, mutual fund and retail).  Realizing that individual investors are best served through an independent and transparent fee-only model, he created Index Gurus, Inc. in order to provide objective and professional advice.  When he is not serving his clients/friends, you can find Faruk backpacking around the world to places like Africa, Thailand, Canada, Mexico, … Asia.  His favorite hobbies right now are windsurfing, sailing, road-biking and practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (a sport where he won first place at the Gracie Open and US Open within his weight division).
